When I look at my bookshelf, I see an entire army of authors that have my back. During the times of not being able to afford very much for me in terms of self-care & personal development, I turned to more affordable solutions - Books!
Here are the top 5 books from my list plus a list of very honourable mentions.
1. Journey To The Heart - Melody Beattie.
Here is an author that I just can't say no to. I have 8 of her books on my shelf, but this was my introduction to her. In my opinion, she is self-love royalty. I particularly enjoy the short daily reads format. For example, there are daily meditations that open up space for guided intention setting in this book. This is my third year reading it now, and I am still in awe that my perceptions have changed over the years. This is a beautiful book to start you on a journey of self-discovery and healing.
2. It's Not Your Money - Tosha Silver.
This book, paired with the powerful practice of EFT, is a game-changer in my life. The weekly layout of exercises in this writing really resonated with me. I have read it twice and may do it again this year as we navigate through the financial recovery of Covid-19.
This book is part of the roadmap to abundance and freedom.
3. The Body Keeps the Score - Bessel Van Der Kolk.
I have really been nerding out on the science behind trauma and somatic healing. This book is sprinkled with images and charts that really feed the curious mind. For anyone interested in the paradigm of alternative approaches, this is a great read.
4. Ethics In Energy Medicine - Heidi Light
I am so pleased to refer within my community. Heidi is a fellow NEFTTI alumnus, and this book is gold. Although this is a fabulous read for practitioners i the energy medicine field, this is also great for anyone looking to find a good practitioner as well.
Reading through this book will help you navigate and empower your choice in finding an ethical and trustworthy practitioner or coach of any kind.
5. Is This All There Is - Monique Verpoort
I am reaching back into my community with this share and am so proud to do so. This book shines a light on the beautiful outcome of the EFT practice and how we can shed limiting beliefs that keep us feeling stuck. This book features real-life stories that I personally felt quite connected to. This helped me learn the boundaries between commitment and obligation.
Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness - David A. Treleaven

Home Body - Rupi Kaur
Milk and Honey - Rupi Kaur
The Language of Letting Go - Melody Beattie
